Epic Battle: Brooklyn Vick vs. Ty Virgil

Friendly Competition

3rd graders, Brooklyn Vick and Ty Virgil at the MSE Showcase in Raleigh, NC

Rankings for kids might seem preposterous; however, it gives us an early opportunity to gauge prospective athletes. Therefore, feast your eyes on two highly ranked third graders in Brooklyn Vick and Ty Virgil. Both players are elite for their age — nine years old. Last month, they rumbled at the renown MSE Camp in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Super boy Vick met talent-driven left hand Virgil at half court, stripping the ball from him consecutive possessions. How? Vick cut off Virgil’s strong hand and forced him weak side.

Chisel frame Vick surveyed the floor while breaking down defenders off the dribble. He penetrated lanes to kick or dish the ball. When Vick didn’t find a open teammate, he meticulously picked his shot.

Virgil is arguably the best player considering his prowess as an athlete. He has height, jumper and athleticism with a skill-set. He’s a natural scorer.

Seeking revenge, Virgil returned for redemption on Sunday. He was virtually unstoppable using a plethora of moves to score at will. Virgil is a lights out shooter excelling at absorbing rough body contact to get buckets.

Jakhary Towns Is Young, Gifted & Elite

Bionic Boy

You might’ve seen this kid’s name before, but not on MiddleSchoolElite.com.

Class of 2023, Jakhary Towns traveled from his Michigan hometown to North Carolina’s Triangle for extreme competition. With players from different states in attendance, Towns had exposure waiting for him. As a result, he gained national respect and recognition.

Some who were there: Ohio, Maryland, Florida, California, New York, Virginia, Pennyslvania, Michigan, West Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, District of Columbia, South Carolina, Alabama and Kentucky.

Fortunately, he chose the exclusive MSE camp over other events happening the same weekend. And, the fact he’s mentioned on this website gives him superior bragging rights. Towns was talk of the town!

We must say that fourth grade Towns is a good player and person as well. The young scholar dominated on-and-off the court. A mother who saw him compete said, “he’s energetic and fun to watch.”

Here’s what we learned about Towns

A combination of skills and ruggedness makes young Towns impenetrable. He’s a confident ball-handler who relishes pressure from double and triple team defenses. In addition, he’s a playmaker who scores in volumes.

Heady point guard Towns did not take off a play. He contributed somehow to his team’s points, assists, rebounds and steals. He’s mentally and physically ready to outdo opponents.

Lastly, Towns was practically unknown until we discovered him. Now he’s the envy of players that want to be on here. Towns will definitely go far, if he’s steadfast on being elite.

The Future Is Bright

www.MiddleSchoolElite.com rankings are based on player’s performances at high level tournaments and camps, overall team success, ability to impact games and long term ability and upside

No.1 Brooklyn Vick at the MSE Father's Day Camp in Raleigh, NC

No.1 Brooklyn Vick (VA) at the MSE Father’s Day Camp in Raleigh, NC

We have been following young players since they were kindergartners. For example, fourth grader KJ Farfan (FL), who we got on the Live with Regis & Kelly morning show — when he was in first grade.

So it’s only right to release the MSE Top 50 Player National Rankings for Third Grade/2024, which is perfect timing because the 9u nationals is this Friday in Florida. The team we predict to win this years AAU nationals is Detroit Elite Express, which is why Jerry Easter (OH) is ranked at No.2. Easter plays multiple sports such as baseball, football, soccer and basketball. He’s skilled and tough as nails and a top ten player on several ranking websites.

Brooklyn Vick (VA) is ranked atop, mainly because of his stellar performance at the June 2015 MSE Father’s Day Challenge Camp in Raleigh, North Carolina where he earned third grade top player. The lofty spot isn’t too much for a brave warrior like Vick who does it all in games — except dunk. The fundamental point guard has a great feel for the game and enjoys getting teammates rapidly involved as well as executing ferocious defense.

3rd grade Ty Virgil from Michigan at the MSE Father's Day Challenge Camp in NC

2024  Ty Virgil from Michigan at the MSE Father’s Day Challenge Camp in NC

Ty Virgil (MI) The lefty has a lot of potential and should make it on the next level — middle school, high school and college. We like Virgil because he’s smart with heart and skill. He’s tall for his age, too. He knows how to score in various ways and has a knack for shooting the ball. He’s also a good passer able to see the floor easily over smaller defenders. We are anxious to learn what future elite team Virgil may want to join later on.

To Be the Real MSE

Class of 2023 Jahkary Towns

Class of 2023 Jahkary Towns

Class of 2023, rising fifth grader, Jakhary Towns from Michigan attended the Middle School Elite North Carolina Basketball Camp in June 2015, therefor he deserves mention. So what he also supports our weak opponents; we won’t mention names.

However, Towns was smart enough to attend the MSE camp earning his way on MiddleSchoolElite.com, which paid off lovely because all the major news outlets are definitely checking him oppose to those sites who don’t have substantial proof of being more affective than us.

So come to MSE camps for exposure, otherwise you have no chance of receiving it — especially here. Moreover, you can rest assure that Sports Illustrated, CBS sports, Wall Street Journal, YAHOO, Bloomberg News, ESPN, Wall Street Journal and even our enemies are seeing this article. That’s absolute exposure!!!

Hopefully we’ll see Towns at another MSE camp and on MSE the website, again. This way people can truly witness him and his talent on a single page without all the unnecessary clutter of other players information.

Hate him or love him — if Towns’s GPA and SAT or ACT score is good, then nonbelievers are in serious trouble — later on. We can tell you all about his amazing skills and how spectacular he performed, but we rather you watch his recent jaw-dropping mix-tape. Don’t be surprised if Towns is at the next MSE camp regulating!

Glowing Lefty

3rd grade Ty Virgil from Michigan at the MSE Father's Day Challenge Camp in NC

3rd grade Ty Virgil at the MSE Father’s Day Challenge Camp in NC

Class of 2024, Ty Virgil is too impressive. During Virgil’s third grade basketball season, he made 252 three-pointers in games.  He’s breaking ankles, beating plays, and scoring acrobatic shots in his YouTube highlight video below.

Most people say that Virgil is the best shooter in the high school graduating class of 2024 — hands down.

If you don’t agree then try battling him along with his competitive bball peers at an upcoming MSE Camp in Tennessee, Michigan, Texas, Virginia and/or California.  At the MSE North Carolina Camp in which campers from fourteen states appeared, Virgil held his own against some of the top players in the country.

It was a pleasure watching Virgil get busy before our eyes. He’ll be a nightmare for shooting guards. Do whatever you possibly can to gain player exposure, but just remember the name — Ty Virgil.

Bmore finest Is No More

FullSizeRender (5)“The 3rd place national champs bmore finest is no longer with that organization but still bmore base “Team Thrill” with NBA and Bmore native up coming star Will “The Thrill” Barton,” said Team Thrill, the new AAU program.

In what will be a significant shift in the national landscape of grassroots basketball, former BMore’s Finest Grassroots Coordinator and Head Coach for the classes of 2021 and 2024, Donnell “Mookie” Dobbins, has been appointed to Program Director for the Baltimore based AAU Club “Team Thrill”.

The program inherits its name from Baltimore native and Denver Nuggets swingman Will “The Thrill” Barton, who is the founder of the the program and a member of the Under Armour family. Though “Team Thrill” will be a newcomer to the UA Association with the foundation already being built they will make an immediate impact.

After an intense season, both of the Dobbins coached teams made it to the Division I AAU National Final Four and have gained notoriety on the national circuit due to their relentless style of play and “refuse to lose” attitudes.

“Team Thrill” will feature nationally ranked teams in the classes of 2025, 2024, 2021 which is headlined by its dynamic back court of Dajuan Lane and top ranked Samartine “Fatman” Bogues , who happens to be the grandson of NBA great Muggsy Bogues. However, Fatman isn’t the only player from the program receiving national acclaim. Amongst others are Tyler Boston, Tyler Jackson, Jaden Colzie, and Daquan Davis. Ahmad Harrison and Christian Moore have established themselves as top 20 players in the class of 2021 with their standout performances at AAU Nationals. Chris Winborne, Malik Missouri, Jalen Bryant, and Rayuan Lane have also raised eyebrows with their outstanding play during the season.

The Class of 2022 features all around phenom Jarace Walker.  There’s nothing Walker can’t do on the court, which he put on display at top notch tourneys. Many consider him to be the most complete player in the class. The class of 2025 unit is full of talent and the addition of KeMori Collins and Ahmad Evans has propelled this group to elite status. Omarr Smith has earned a Top 10 National Ranking after his standout performances at King James and AAU Nationals, where he led his team to an Elite Eight run. The most impressive “Team Thrill” roster may be the newly constructed  2020 class will be headlined by a trio of battle tested guards in Adrian Baldwin, the always impressive Jordan Toles and Rahim Ali Jr.

Below is a video snippet of Team Thrill’s fourth grade boys basketball team practicing.

California’s Skyy Clark is The Limit

Skyy Can Fly

IMG_1929Class of 2022, fifth grade, Skyy Clark is a top player from California, and he’s looking for top exposure from not only the west coast area but the east, too. Does his skills warrant the attention? If he isn’t more talented than any west coast player than he’s the most talented for his position in California. Just watch his video. If that’s not influencing enough, then, watch him live at a Middle School Elite West Coast Camp.

We haven’t seen Clark in person, but scouts report that he’s an overachiever on-and-off the court. By the look of his videos he’s tall, athletic with a jump shot. Good ball handling skills, able to hit perimeter shot, and knack for bullying his way to the hole for easy buckets. Stay tuned for more from one of Cali’s Finest in Clark as he takes the America by storm.

Jaxon Kohler: Best Big on West is White

Dangerous As They Come

IMG_1930National coaches believe fifth grader, Jaxon Kohler, who happens to be white, is the best big man in the country, if not, definitely on the west coast. Although Kohler lives in Utah, he plays with the Froggs AAU basketball team in California. He commutes that far to attend practices, individual workouts and tournaments. Huge family commitment.

Kohler doesn’t complain about not touching the ball enough nor scoring a majority of points, because he’s the one grabbing rebounds establishing possession for teammates.

Players of any position can basically clean glass, but Kohler has the physicality to get the job done as a center.

Kohler is considerered a throwback: he’s mean, tough and plays with back to basket with Kevin McHale like footwork and touch. Moreover, Kohler’s dad is 6’8″ and mother 6’0″.

In conclusion, Kohler and some of Utah’s best talent will represent at the MSE California / West Coast Camp January 2-3, 2016.

Early Elite Exposure 2 Envy

imageHe Showed Out

Some people hoped Akai Fleming from Austell, GA. traveled for nothing and didn’t get his individual article on Middle School Elite Dot Com. However, the eight year old hooper was a beast on both days of camp, bullying his way to the rim. Not to mention, his game drastically improved since the June 2015 MSE North Carolina Camp where we met him as a second grader.

Has superior ball handling skills and good footwork for change of direction. He’s strong and stocky with a tough mentality. He’s aggressive and relishes rough body contact. The stud was best third grade camper and he’s a top five athlete in the nation for class of 2025.

He’s talented enough to play starting point guard for MSE All Stars.

Stay tuned for write ups on dozens of campers who stood out at the MSE Camp held in Nashville also known as the Music City.
